• How many electricians are there in the US? 757,220, about as many as lawyers 2026-10-29. 757,220 electricians held a payroll job in the US in May 2025 according to BLS OEWS, 2,720 more than the 754,500 lawyers, with Texas at 76,770 and a median wage of $63,190.
• How many chiropractors are there in the US? 105,599 2026-10-28. 105,599 people hold a chiropractor taxonomy code on the CMS NPPES file of September 2026, 46.2% of them flagged as sole proprietors, with North Dakota and Iowa at 65.0 per 100,000 residents and Mississippi at 11.4.
• One in five new NPIs in 2025 went to a behavior technician 2026-10-26. CMS issued 518,843 new individual NPIs in 2025 and 114,625 of them went to behavior technicians, while Nebraska went from 3,841 new NPIs to 29,999 after a Medicaid rule change.
• How many physical therapists are there in the US? 291,006 2026-10-22. 291,006 people hold a physical therapist taxonomy code on the CMS NPPES file of September 2026, with Vermont at 142.5 per 100,000 residents and Texas at 55.1.
• One in five new Florida real estate agents lost the licence at the first renewal 2026-10-06. Florida issued 10,832 real estate sales associate licences between October 2024 and March 2025. Five days after their first renewal date, 30 September 2026, 2,148 of them (19.8%) were gone from the state's licence file.
• 1,122 Texas insurance agencies are run by one person licensed before Windows 95 2026-09-29. In the Texas Department of Insurance's September 2026 files, 1,122 property and casualty agencies have a single principal on record who was first licensed before August 24, 1995, while 56% of the state's 253,384 resident agents got their first licence in 2021 or later.
• America could fire 1.2 million realtors and still sell every house 2026-09-27. The US has 1,439,163 Realtors for 4.06 million existing-home sales, 2.8 homes each a year; Sweden's 7,465 registered agents sold 171,200 homes, 22.9 each, so at the Swedish rate the US would need about 177,000 agents.
• California has more real estate agents than schoolteachers 2026-09-27. California's Department of Real Estate lists 380,731 licensed salespersons and brokers, against 286,126 K-12 classroom teachers in the state's public schools and about 269,000 single-family homes sold in 2025.
• Germany needs 63,000 people to pay its pensions, 5x Japan and 4x Sweden per pensioner 2026-09-27. The Deutsche Rentenversicherung staffs 63,412 full-time equivalents for 21.49 million pensioners, 295 per 100,000 pensioners, against 58 at the Japan Pension Service, 71 at Sweden's Pensionsmyndigheten and 78 at the US Social Security Administration.
• Zoho has more Members of Technical Staff than OpenAI, Anthropic and xAI combined 2026-09-27. 4,980 LinkedIn profiles at Zoho carry the title Member of Technical Staff, against 1,866 at OpenAI, Anthropic and xAI together, and 53.5% of the 43,894 profiles with the title are in India.

• 24 of the Fortune 500 use the Chief AI Officer title, 54 with fused titles 2026-09-17. 24 of 500 Fortune 500 companies have an enterprise-wide executive titled Chief AI Officer on press or company evidence, 54 once fused titles such as Chief Data and AI Officer count and 68 with divisional holders; 19 of the 54 are financial companies (banks, insurers, asset managers, Mastercard, S&P Global). The count is of job titles, not of who leads AI at each company.
• Mississippi has 86 nurse practitioners per 100 physicians. Hawaii has 25 2026-09-15. Mississippi has 86.1 nurse practitioners per 100 physicians and Hawaii has 25.1, against 42.4 nationally, counting individuals enumerated and not deactivated in the CMS NPPES file of September 2026 by self-reported practice state.
• No Inc 5000 company lists a sustainability chief. 53 of the Fortune 500 do 2026-09-15. 0 of the 4,469 Inc 5000 companies with people in the data list anyone with a Chief Sustainability Officer title, against 53 of 483 Fortune 500 companies, 11.0%; the Inc 5000 zero holds in every depth band, and in the 100 to 500 rows band both sides are zero; the same data puts Chief Revenue Officer titles at 14.4% of depth-matched Inc 5000 companies against 1.7% of Fortune 500 ones.
