# Telehealth flag by specialty, state and credential, CMS Doctors and Clinicians file

Clinicians in the CMS Doctors and Clinicians National Downloadable File (fetched
15 September 2026), one per NPI, split by whether the file's Telehlth field is Y.
Doctors are NPIs with credential MD or DO.

## Files

- doctors_by_specialty.csv: MD and DO doctors per primary specialty (specialties with at least 1,000 doctors), number with the telehealth flag, share.
- doctors_by_state.csv: MD and DO doctors with at least one practice address in each state (states with at least 1,000), number with the flag, share. A doctor with addresses in two states counts in both.
- clinicians_by_credential.csv: all clinicians per credential (credentials with at least 5,000), number with the flag, share.
- facts.json: totals used in the post, including the count of clinicians with a virtual practice address.
